Yes, the ugly rumor is true. One of my bettas is already dead. It was the blue one, my mellow one, “Rain” if you will. (If I had a naming contest, Michael would have won it, by the way.) I’m deeply saddened by the loss, especially since I never got the chance to really know him. Rain was honored with a burial at sea. He is survived by his brother, whom I have still not yet named. Thank you to everyone who called to console me in my time of need.
So yes, my fish died, but his brother is going strong (and as spastic as ever). It is a bit disturbing that he went after only two nights, but at least I owned up right away to the fact that my fish died (cough, cough). Anyway, I’ll try to take good care of my remaining betta, and if all else fails, I’ll cave and buy a hardier yet not as pretty goldfish.

Its sad to lose a loved one, even if the loved one is a pet….Don’t give up and remember that there ae other fish in the sea…..

:)
If ever I find myself shopping for pet fish, I will be sure to remember that mellow = destined to be flushed.
Wow, that blue betta looked exactly like the betta I gave away two months ago.
Put a mirror up to the bowl to give the fish some exercise. ;)
That’s what I had to do.. too many bettas in too little time. :) But I’ve had Cleo the goldfish for almost two years now!
my god, he died without a name? that’s horrible
