Lean Cuisine?

You know that commercial for Lean Cuisine, where the four women are at the ice rink, watching some skaters practice, and they’re talking about what they had for dinner the night before, and the fourth woman boasts that she had “wild salmon with whole-wheat orzo pasta, spinach, and carrots in a savory basil sauce?”

Yeah. That particular variety of Lean Cuisine actually tastes like suck. Just FYI.

What? Salmon with Basil is one of my favorites!

  2. Denise says:

Salmon with Basil is one of my favorites too…

(p.s. maura, how did you do the last.fm recent songs list on the side?)

  3. Maura says:

Chicken in Peanut Sauce is my favorite. Salmon with Basil never heats up evenly for me and never tastes good.

  4. Kayleigh says:

Seems like it would. I’m not surprised.

yuck. i’ve had it before! it was so bad… the only lean cuisine i enjoy is the sesame chicken one ^__^

  6. Cori says:

that whole “spa entrees” line doesn’t appeal to me at ALL. i had the pot stickers entree yesterday, which was delicious, as is the creamy basil chicken bowl. it’s getting harder and harder to find good lean cuisines around these parts… everyone has like 1298341946 different variations on pasta and red sauce, or lasagna, but no pot stickers or vegetable egg rolls, or parmesan chicken and vegetables. to this i say, wtf?

Ok, so I tried the weight watchers beef stroganoff and omg, it was awful. I wanted to cry while I ate it. HAHA.

Oh, and your auto comments makes me feel like Doogie! or one of those Ghostwriter Mysteries kids. <3

    good to know.
my favorite is the chicken pecan one.
    oh – and the paninis.

What I found most interesting is that none of the reviews (and I went through ten pages) were at all negative, except for one which suggested a minor vegetable change.

  11. James says:

All I know to do with any Lean Cuisine or Weightwatchers meal is microwave it for the prescribed time and then throw it away. All of their meals, even the “good” ones are a little bland for my taste. It’s the absence of tasty, tasty fat and carbohydrates I guess.

Does she say in the commercial if it tastes good? You could try to bust them for false advertising if so!
