Weezer - Pinkerton I just wanted to say I’ve been really obsessed lately with listening to Pinkerton by Weezer. And learning that it’s based on Madame Butterfly and that Rivers Cuomo pretty much hates it now and rarely plays songs from it in concert only fueled my fixation:

It’s like getting really drunk at a party and spilling your guts in front of everyone and feeling incredibly great and cathartic about it, and then waking up the next morning and realizing what a complete fool you made of yourself.

And that’s pretty much why it’s awesome. I don’t even have a favorite song. I love them all.

Oh goodness. This was the CD of my junior year in high school. I’ve seen weezer a few times and I think the only Pinkerton songs I’ve heard live are “Tired of Sex” and “The Good Life”

I love “Pink Triangle” and “Tired of Sex.” I think that CD got me through my last year of college.

Pinkerton is one of my favorite albums, and easily my favorite Weezer one. “Falling for You” is one heck of an underrated song. So is “Across the Sea.”

You know those albums that you really like and listen to during a really good patch in your life? And then that patch ends, you listen to the music and it reminds you how you were once happy so you try to avoid ever listening to said album until years down the line and you say to yourself, “Hot Damn, you are really good. I should never have stopped listening to you!”

Pinkerton isn’t one of those albums for me. But it’s still really good.
