Visiting Lake Lanier
Last weekend we were up in beautiful Gainesville, GA, and I wanted to see how Lake Lanier looked in person. It’s made national news, but in case you didn’t know, the water level in the lake is very low due to extreme drought, and it is the primary water source for metro Atlanta. Uh-oh! Although threats of “we’re going to run out of drinking water in three months!” have not come to pass, it’s still a pretty serious situation. And instead of examining the cause of the problem, Georgia is exploring stealing “reclaiming” land from Tennessee. Yeah, I’m not embarrassed at all. Luckily, Chattanooga had a great sense of humor about the whole thing.
