Uh, yeah, there’s no clever way to say this. In September there will be the first ever DjangoCon, and I’m on a panel on Sunday called “Django in Journalism.” And it’s at Google headquarters. Yeah.
I think my fellow panelist Matt Waite put it best when he said:
My three reactions, in rough order:
1. I am so excited I can’t even tell you.
2. I am so honored it’s ridiculous.
3. I am so scared out of my freaking gourd it’s not even funny.
Personally, I am going with “scared shitless.”
Anyway, I am super-excited and honored to be part of the first DjangoCon. I am also very excited to be a girl using Django. And if you’re on the speaker list or happen to get one of the 200 coveted slots, I can’t wait to meet you.

Congratulations! I’ll be looking forward to the (hopeful) recordings of these talks, especially your talk about “Django in Journalism”
Congrats! Hopefully I’ll be one of the 200 and have a chance to meet you ;)
Yeah! Good job and congratulations! This is an awesome chance to rock or be impressively bad!… Well, you probably won’t be impressively bad so that means you’re gonna rock right? ‘cause who wants to do just fine? :-)
Hey!
Don’t be so scared :) Although, the panels are designed to be single track…. so all eyes will be on you ;)
I’m looking forward to that panel.
See you there
I’m very impressed, and I’m sure you’ll do just fine. Congratulations!
Congratulations for being part of DjangoCon. I will be there.
Congrats, Mau! And I was in the apartment that you painted all of, and the house in Franklin. I feel important.
