Hi, I’m Maura. I’m a twenty-ish-year-old web developer and female human being. I live in Atlanta, Georgia, and work at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, building the internets.
I was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and grew up in nearby Fairhaven, a small and historical town where I participated in Girl Scouts and feasted on linguica and corn muffins. My family moved to Franklin, Tennessee, about twenty miles outside of Nashville, when I was twelve. I have a degree in Computer Science (English minor) from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
My non-technical interests include Baseball (Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox), Football (Tennessee Titans and more recently Eli Manning’s New Jersey New York Giants) and occasionally Hockey (Nashville Predators). Besides sports I also enjoy running (slowly), healthy cooking, pretending I know anything about wine, indie movies and bands that don’t even exist yet.
My technical interests include web development (obviously), web standards, clean, usable design and sustainable programming practices. I am a huge fan of Apple, OpenID and Django.
