it’s christmas time and time for a carol

13 dec 04

Today, I received from Amazon all of the Christmas gifts for my family. I was very, very excited when the UPS man came, as he can attest to. Anyway, after work I went to Target to buy wrapping paper and ribbon, and I came home and immediately started wrapping presents, because I love wrapping presents. Here is how they turned out.

presents

A quick note about wrapping paper: go with the deluxe stuff. The cheap stuff just rips when you’re trying to wrap presents, and that’s not very helpful. Go with as thick of paper as you can find. Those variety packs? Crap. Thin paper. Don’t buy them.

At the start of the season, I noticed at Target some awesome music note ornaments which are also jingle bells. I thought, “Wow, those are cool. I should get those.” Of course, on my next 482 trips to Target, they were out of them. I had just about given up when they had some tonight! I was overjoyed.

Aren’t those the coolest ornaments ever?

So very pretty (the presents and the ornaments!)

I think the alternate title for this post should be, “Tour of Maura’s Carpet.”

So cute!!! Target has the best paper ever.

I usually stick with the cheap stuff. I don’t have many gifts to wrap, but I can’t resist the ever-so cheesy dollar store variety.

awww, those ornaments are really cute!

hallmark has GREAT wrapping paper - it’s really thick and doesn’t tear, plus it even has CUTTING LINES on the back! that’s all i use for wrapping.

When it comes to wrapping presents, you’re a lot like Jennifer. She’s a wrapping fiend.

WOW! Your presents look like you paid someone to wrap them for you- will you wrap mine? Even WITH the Hallmark lines on the back of the paper; mine still turn out… well, not real pretty. YOURS look great tho! KUDOS! **And I can’t curl ribbon either!

That’s so easy to say (ie get the good stuff) when you don’t have a ton of toys to wrap for kids! :)

I’m going to have to look into that Hallmark paper, though - I can’t cut a straight line to save my life! :)

Somehow I always get the cheap stuff and I hate it…it’s so thin, you can see the writing on the package. What’s the point of using wrapping paper if it doesn’t cover the text on the package. I had to wrap the gift in my printer paper (which is twice as thick as the wrapping paper) before doing the pretty wrap. Ugh!

I love Brandons comment. I love your carpet. I really love the super Christmasy, super shiny, super sexy red wrapping paper. I am going to buy a whole bunch and wrap a cute boy in it and send it to you. I also really love the ornaments. If I had a tree, I would buy some. Maybe I’ll buy some anyways, because somday I will have a tree that is hang-stuff-onable.

School has absolutely fried my brain. I ♥ you!
