coppers

23 dec 04

Emma and I ventured out to Starbucks this evening, where what seemed like all of the cops in Franklin were enjoying a delicious hot beverage. I must say, I was a little concerned. If they’re all at Starbucks, who is out protecting and serving the citizens of Franklin?

Do cops actually protect your city? Because here, they don’t.

Oh Maura! Unless they had their radios turned off, cut the poor kids a break! The day before Christmas Eve. They aren’t home with their wives and kids. It’s cold outside. They put their lives on the line every single day to protect us and we begrudge them a cup of coffee? Coffee shops love it when cops come in - it keeps the riff-raff out of the store. I’d feel a lot safer working the night shift if I knew some cops were going to come in every once in a while to warm up, grab a cup of coffee and sit for 20 minutes or so. YEAH COPS! If I see any cops having to work tonight, I’m going to buy them a cup of coffee myself.
