metal is my enemy

30 dec 04

This post shall also be known as, “The Storage Unit Built by Brittany and Maura. Oh, Who Are We Kidding, It Was Mostly Brittany.”

Today, in continuation of our Eve Eve cleaning extravaganzas (there was also one on Christmas Eve Eve), Brittany and I put together a metal and “heavy-duty particleboard” storage unit to replace the old one, which was falling apart. This storage unit advertised, “Assembles in Minutes!” Yeah, if by minutes you mean forty-five or so minutes. There was hammering and pieces were not square (very frustrating), so it took longer than expected. In the end, we won over the metal and the wood.

Hear Brittany Roar

You should all try it. It’s empowering.

Why don’t I just hire you two to come and put one up for me?

I had to put two of those things together for my boss at the radio station. Very frustrating, and way too long to get assembled.

I hate assembling furniture by myself. If I have a friend and a liberal amount of alcohol, on the other hand….

I still have cabinet doors that are unattached in my kitchen, and one on my desk…

any help?

I think I actually enjoyed putting together my desk and TV stand. What sucks is the amount of space these things need for the assembly process.
