Because I signed a new lease, my apartment complex gave me a choice of thank-you presents. They were: ceiling fan (already have one), updated bathroom lighting fixture (couldn’t care less), touch-up paint (yeah, my apartment is not the original color), and carpet cleaning. Carpet cleaning? Yes yes YES! Since I am forced to live with carpet rather than hardwood floors, I’m crazy about my carpets being clean. I love my vacuum cleaner, and I love my Resolve. I spilled red Kool-Aid on the floor once, and the fading pink stain bothers me every day. I love to vacuum. Love it. Really. I need help.
Today was the special day, so last night I made sure everything that could possibly be off the floor was, and I vacuumed. I thought about how funny it is that we must clean up before the people we pay to clean up come. Then I thought about fudge-covered Oreos. But, I digress.
Long story short (ha), when I came home today, my carpet was as clean as clean could be, albeit a little damp. It’s fresh. It’s clean. You could eat off it. It’s so beautiful. If I had my own steam cleaner, I would clean my carpets all the time. There’s your hot tip to woo me: steam cleaner.

I had a Bissell. It just isn’t the same as having someone scrub the carpet for you — and you get to come home from work to that awesome fresh, clean feeling. Plus, the Bissell doesn’t get it as clean. Oh yeah…and the water you dump is REALLY gross, so you keep steam cleaning and steam cleaning because you hope, some day…some how…that water will be clear. It never is.
Don’t put yourself through that Maura. I am obviously scarred.

I’m owed a carpet cleaning, after I renewed my lease. But I have so much junk on the floor that I’ve never gotten around to setting it up. I really should do that one of these days.

I have to do my carpets after the holidays. I would hire someone to do it, but I used to clean carpets for a living. So figure might as well rent the machine and do it myself.
You would not like my vacume it is from 1970 something I think the first up right ever.

I can’t believe you get renovations when you extend your lease! And a choice at that! Call me jealous. Anyways, congrats on the clean carpet. I understand your excitement and will now go back to day-dreaming about what my little place would look like if I had newly cleaned carpeting!!
