words that have nothing to do with thanksgiving

21 nov 04

For your challenge this week, use all of the following words at the Thanksgiving dinner table. You can thank me later.

pontificate To talk in a dogmatic and pompous manner

ribald Characterized by or given to vulgar humor; coarse

deride To laugh at with contempt; to subject to ridicule or make sport of

lassitude A state or feeling of weariness, diminished energy, or listlessness

perfunctory Done routinely and with little interest or care

But, uhm, how do you PRONOUNCE them?

i thought lassitude was ‘the quality or state of bearing resemblance to lassie.’
