I love soup. I love how it is hot makes you warm inside. I love how it is an efficient little microcosm of a meal all in one bowl. I love how food I normally do not like (celery, beans) becomes perfectly palatable to me in soup. I love how all the parts of the soup retain their own flavors yet take on the flavors of each other. I love sipping broth. I love how the vegetables and meats and noodles are so tender.
My current favorite kind of soup is chicken tortilla. I had a fantastic white and black bean chicken chili soup for lunch today. Chicken with rice is always a good choice. Minestrone. I prefer broth-based soups to cream-based ones.
When I was a kid, I used to take soup to school for lunch. I had this insulated soup thermos, and my mom would fill it with boiling water to heat it up, then empty it and fill it with warmed Campbell’s soup. It would still be hot at lunchtime. A modern miracle. My dad makes a really good chicken noodle soup from scratch.

I had homemade turkey soup for the first time this Thanksgiving—heaven in a bowl.

I’m not the biggest fan of soup, but I would always order the Chicken and Rice at this local restuarant that was to die for. It was also the cheapest thing on the menu and worth a lot more. And I do love the Chicken Gumbo soup at Steak and Shake.

soup is lovely! i like soup in a bread bowl. even though the bread bowl inevitably soaks up much of the broth-y part, it’s still cool to have soup in an edible bowl.

souplantation serves delicious chicken noodle soup. more so than Campbell’s chicken noodle soup. i’ve turned my back on Campbell’s having said that.

When I was a young kid, the only soup I would eat were Ramen brand. I thought they were the best ever and I still stand by my decision.
