fire engines

14 oct 04

The road my apartment complex is on is fairly frequently travelled by fire engines. There is a station close, although I am not sure why they are always coming this way. Anyway, I have gotten used to the occasional loud siren.

When I arrived home tonight, no siren, but there were both a fire engine and an ambulance across the street and down to the right. Not in front of my apartment, sigh of relief. Anyway, in a very calm manner, the paramedics wheeled a person out of his apartment and over to the ambulance. Obviously not your exciting, television emergency.

It got me to thinking about how mundane real life is in comparison to television, and why it is that we crave drama and excitement so much that we make it up ourselves.

Except for the comments on my last post, of course. Now that’s excitement.

I live on a street that connects two other streets. We get about 6 or 7 fire trucks a week. All good though my wee one loves when they come flying by :).

I think the commercials for Sex In The City do a very good job of showing reality from TV.

Totally agree. Who wouldn’t want to lose two years of your life? Or be stranded on a desert island? Or be a plastic surgeon?

Events like this are why I am convinced that “The Real World” is staged entirely by the producers.

While I’m bursting bubbles, you may not know this, but professional wrestling is fake.
