I had TiVo record a couple episodes of Unsolved Mysteries this week. It is on Lifetime: television for women, because ghosts and weird coincidences and muder and missing people are so very feminine. When I was younger I loved watching this show because it freaked me out, you know, because they are real stories!
So I watched some episodes today, and the scare factor has greatly diminished, which I attribute to all of the stories being more than ten years old. However, watching in 2004 has brought on a whole new slew of scary things: the theme song, Robert Stack, the bad acting, the perms, and the mullets. Oh, the mullets.

I hadn’t mentioned this yet, but i really enjoyed your newish design. I’ve been a long time reader/lurker, and wanted to make it clear that i think the new look is both pleasing to the eye, and easy to understand. Cheers.

I used to love that show, too, but it seems like all they play anymore are reruns, and they’re pathetically out of date. I swear I saw one this summer where they were still looking for the Unabomber.
I wonder if anyone called in…

I used to watch it with my grandmother when I was young… both Robert Stack and that creepy theme music scared the shit out of me - I was always so paranoid afterwards, and I thought someone was out to get me. I’d get afraid watching America’s Most Wanted too.
I can’t really say “was” though… both shows scare the bejeebers out of me.

Unsolved mysteries was one of my favorite shows too, but now I’m more into CSI stuff going on other shows on the discovery channel. Nice name by the way :)

Ooh, do you remember the episode with the unfinished bunkbeds that were possessed? I had nightmares for 3 months! I still won’t go near bunkbeds or unfinished furniture stores because I am scarred for life! Thank you, Unsolved Mysteries.
