I went to a Halloween party tonight, and I was the Statue of Liberty. It’s an election year, and it was very patriotic.
Shopping for a Halloween costume was another matter. I went to several places, and they all had the Statue of Liberty torches and crowns, but no gowns. No gowns! Once I found the crown, though, I was hooked, and I had to be Lady Liberty. It’s so patriotic after all.
Finally, I went to Walmart and bought a few yards of seafoam green fabric. I draped it around myself in toga fashion, and there you had it. Having prongs come out of my head took some getting used to, but I made it through.
I was trying to think of the last time I dressed up for Halloween, which was most likely in high school. I won’t be chomping at the bit to do it again.

I dressed as the Statue of Liberty to school for Halloween a couple of years ago, although by “dressed as” I mean I wore the foam crown my friend got me in NYC and carried a little “light of God” flashlight thing I have because it’s got a fake flame that lights up. So I’m betting your costume was better. ;) Sounds cool though!

I dressed up as a priest a few years ago and people told me I was going to hell. Since when do priests go to hell?

I need to think of a good costume idea for this year - I have two costume parties to go to this weekend…but no costume! Any more good ideas?

That was a good idea though. Last time I dressed up was 12 years ago. My wife dressed as me and I dressed as her. Stuffed bra, dress and all..
I had to work that night so she worked with me (in a video rental store) it was lots of laughs.
