Music 2005

28 dec 05

I thought long and hard about making an end of the year music list, because it generally ends in tears and is usually a rehash of someone else’s list, but I’m doing it anyway. In fact, I’m going to make a bunch of lists over the last few days of the year. Stay tuned.

These aren’t ranked but are just some albums I really enjoyed. I’ve limited the list to five, which was hard because this was a big music consumption year for me. In alphabetical order by artist name.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah This album entertains me greatly. I can’t help it. Let go and sing “and the rock and rock and rock and rock and roll!” and love it, too.

LCD Soundsystem by LCD Soundsystem Also known as the soundtrack of my workout, this CD(s) is worth it for “Tribulations” alone. ALONE!

Takk… by Sigur Rós Also known as the soundtrack of my workday. It’s gorgeous and pleasant. “Saeglopur” is my favorite track.

Gimme Fiction by Spoon I loved this album so I got all of their other ones. Favorite song: “They Never Got You.”

Kicking Television: Live in Chicago by Wilco A live album shouldn’t even qualify, but this one is excellent. It’s strong all the way through, and it’s Wilco.

That’s my favorite track off of Takk as well. [:
