In URLs, they’re not (nor are they referred to as) backslashes; they’re just regular slashes.

Backslash: \

I also hate when it’s called “forward slash” .. it’s JUST “slash” people.. no need for the “forward” .. we all know.

I often wonder what would happen if this misunderstanding were to be applied to, say, Slashdot. Would Backslashdot really be the same?
