too wide

28 oct 05

I’m sick of layouts made for screens greater than 1024x768 because they scroll horizontally on my 12” Powerbook.

I absolutely hated it when people would make layouts bigger than 800 by 600 when I was stuck on my old craptop. Even now I make sure my layouts fit at least 800 by 600 resolutions because of the ire I had toward people who didn’t back in the day.

Imagine how the 800x600 must feel.

That sucks… i hate suing 1024 x 768 though. I have it on one computer… my old Linux Pentium 2. My desktop, laptop, and workstation at my job all run at 1600x1200.

I love using the biiiiiiiiiig screens with itty bitty fonts ^____^

Though to be fair, I do test out my layouts in the smaller screen resolutions before setting it loose upon the www xD

i have the opposite problem… i have a widescreen laptop with a res of 1440x900… so most layouts just look small.. and when people use small fonts, it’s terrible on my eyes lol. I always have to increase the text size. :]

I do the same thing Aubrey does. I usually always start off with something that will autocenter and will fit a 800x600 space.

i’ll refresh once or twice and, if the horizontal scrollbar is still there, i just won’t return.

i create all of my layouts for 800x600 and either center them or make them fluid across all resolutions.
