… is Men’s Health. Now, I know what you’re saying: “But Maura, Men’s Health is for men! Also, all they ever talk about is how to get six-pack abs!”
Okay, well, you’ve got me there, on both counts. They are ridiculously obsessed with six-pack abs. (Is this true of all guys, I wonder?) Anyway, for men, it’s filled with all sorts of exercise, nutrition, fashion, and even relationship tips. And, yes, stuff about abs. As far as women go, although we may not want bulging biceps, our fitness and food needs aren’t all that different from men, so there’s plenty of good stuff there. (In fact, check out the 125 Best Foods for Men feature. They even let you eat peanut M&M’s.)
One time my sister asked my dad if she could read one of his issues because some actor she liked was profiled in it. (Couldn’t have been Joaquin Phoenix, because that man definitely does not have six-pack abs.) Dad resisted initially, because Men’s Health contains “secrets about boys.” And if that’s not a great reason for women to read it, I don’t know what is.

NO FREAKING WAY! MY OLDER BROTHER GETS THESE AND I SAID THE OTHER DAY THAT MEN’S HEALTH IS MY FAVORITE MAGAZINE. HOW FUNNY!

I’m decidedly against Men’s Health, it gives people the impression that 6 pack abs are something everyone should be thinking about, not just that John Basedow.

Hey… I read it anyways. There were no secrets about boys. That or I already knew them all. I mean what is the secret anyways? Boys are so silly.

Although a great magazine (I subscribe), be wary of the ads for the Abs Diet book. ;)
Not all of us men are as obsessed with abs as this magazine perceives us to be.
