So I have been trying to squirrel away more money recently, no reason in particular besides that it’s a excellent habit. Begrudgingly, I save a percentage of each paycheck. I’ve eliminated unnecessary monthly bills. I’ve got all my weekend movies and dinners and other entertainment taken care of. (Oh, I’m kidding, I pay, too.)
I signed up for Bank of America’s Keep the Change, which is a program where every time you use your debit card, they round your purchase to the nearest dollar and deposit the difference in your savings account. I know it doesn’t seem like very much, and it may not be, but I use my debit card for pretty much everything. Also, for the first three months they match your savings 100%, so it’s worth a try for at least that long.
Tonight I hit the jackpot: my total at Target was 18.01$. That’s almost a dollar to savings! With the matching, that’s almost two! I’m practically set for retirement.

That could really screw up your balancing your checking account, if you forget that you’re rounding up on every single purchase O.o

Have you ever tried using a CoinStar machine before? You can bring all your loose change and it gives you money for it, or you can have the money put onto a gift card like for Starbucks or Amazon.com, but I have heard if you want to cash out, they charge you for it.
