Emma and I saw Half Nelson tonight, and, honestly, I’m not getting the hype. I mean, the acting was commendable, but the story was nonexistent and as a result I thought the movie lagged. Additionally, there were several expository scenes/classroom lessons about civil rights events, and for the life of me I could not see how they pertained to the rest of the movie.
But, I’m open. If you saw it and enjoyed it, I’m interested to hear why.
