Audra and I saw Invincible yesterday, the Mark Wahlberg, Cinderella story movie about the bartender and substitute teacher from Philadelphia who becomes an NFL player with the Eagles. As Audra said, “If Mark Wahlberg is there, I’m there.”
You know, I really can’t complain about a sports movie where the human spirit triumphs, because who doesn’t love that? However, this movie is terribly, terribly clichéd, and I’m glad I had Audra with me, because she’s a one-woman peanut gallery. We swooned over Wahlberg’s 70s hair. We mocked the obvious plot turns and practically homoerotic male bonding. Oh! And thank goodness his new love interest showed up the day after his wife left him.
Oh, I kid. It was enjoyable.
