Unfortunately, I forgot the most important part of the Thai Pineapple Chicken Curry story last week.

On the weekends, when Shaun makes a dinner, he always picks some accompanying music to cook to. So, he always says, “What’s good [X]-making music?” where [X} is chili or fajitas or jambalaya. The answer to this question is almost always Nada Surf, although Calexico is a frequent choice for any Mexican/southwestern cuisine. Shaun had already started dinner on Thai Pineapple Chicken Curry night when he remembered the music, so he asked me to put something on. Naturally, I chose Ben Kweller, because he couldn’t be less Thai.

“I picked Ben Kweller because he is from Thailand.”
“No he’s not.”
“Yes he is.”
“Ben Kweller is from Texas.”
“Thailand.”
