Another leisurely stroll

03 nov 07

This morning was Nashville’s Race for the Cure, and as usual people with strollers and some weighed down with too much breast cancer paraphernalia hindered my running progress. Now, I understand that RftC is not your usual 5K and that most people walk, but if they didn’t intend for some of us to take it seriously, they shouldn’t do chip timing. They also shouldn’t call it Race for the Cure.

RftC runs a rather boring course around Bicentennial Mall, and last year some of our spectators included a homeless guy with a shopping cart. Unfortunately they’ve really cracked down on that sort of thing, and in the spot where a bum and all of his earthly treasures stood, this year there was a cop.

Not my best time ever, but I can’t really complain. Also, I got a free bagel.

I was totally in Nashville yesterday at Vandy. By the time I got there, everyone must have finished their stroll though, because parking wasn’t nearly as bad. The weather was very nice too.
