Rapid Fire Movie Reviews

29 sep 07

(Stolen from Emma.)

Obviously I haven’t updated the reviews section of my site in some time, and it’s being phased out in version 2. Here’s some movies I’ve seen in the past few months worth seeing (or not).

  1. Knocked Up: It’s on DVD now, and it was funny. You should rent it.
  2. The Simpsons Movie: Funny, but not much better than a few episodes.
  3. Superbad: It took a few weeks for the hype machine to convince me to see this one, and I thought it was great.
  4. Rescue Dawn: Steve Zahn! Harrowing.
  5. The Bourne Ultimatum: Loved it.
  6. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: POA is still the best of the movies.
  7. September Dawn: This would have been a really disturbing movie were it not acted so badly.
  8. Catch and Release: Oh, that’s why I didn’t see this in the theater! It’s bad.
  9. An Inconvenient Truth: Better late than never. Renewed my commitment to take transit to work.
  10. Flightplan: I wish I had caught this in the theater. I did not see the plot twist coming.

Aww, I kind of liked Catch And Release. Flightplan I really liked and the rest of them, I guess I need to go to the movies more or something.

The best review on here is “Steve Zahn! Harrowing.”

That has to be some kind of an oxymoron… which is part of what makes Steve Zahn so great.

Bourne Ultimatum was great. Unfortunately I was way down low in the theater, and off to a side, which made the movie a bit hard to watch, because of the shooting style.

I watched most of Catch and Release on a flight from Atlanta to San Diego. Helped pass the time, mildly entertaining. Funny to see Kevin Smith acting (as someone other than Silent Bob). But I don’t think I would have paid money to see it.
