I’ve been asked a few times recently about my new food habits, or, more specifically, now that we have Braves baseball season tickets are we eating hot dogs for dinner every night? Alas, we are not, much to the delight of my health and my stomach, although I do love a good hot dog.
At Turner Field you can bring in outside food and drink, so that pretty much solves that problem. I’m curious how pervasive this practice is; I know at the least you can bring food in at Coors Field. Anyway, that brings us to our next problem, which is delicious and healthy cold dinners. I suppose some weekends we could tailgate, although we take transit to the games so taking a grill that way would be a pain. Most days we’ll be going to the game straight from work.
Monday night we had artichoke heart salad, and last night I made roasted red pepper hummus (finally breaking in my Cuisinart 14-cup food processor), which we ate tonight in pitas with various sliced vegetables. I’ve got lots of these kinds of ideas (and there’s always sandwiches), but if you have any really good, outside the box thoughts, I’d love to hear them.
