So as I’m sure the media has made you well aware, plastic shopping bags are evil, and you should seek out alternatives. Luckily, us white people, we love saving the Earth. And, those retailers, they get to sell us reusable bags and then spend less on disposable bags for their wares, which is like a win-win-win-win… Well, everyone wins, even Mother Nature.
Recently, Shaun and I were discussing our need for reusable bags to shlep home our (possibly) organic foods from Publix and Trader Joe’s, as well as our toxic chemical cleaners and kitchen gadgets from Target. But, which bags do we buy? If we bring red, bullseye-emblazoned satchels to our neighborhood TJ’s, will we hurt Joe’s feelings? What a quandary!
Anyway, I decided it would be best to get a bag or two from each of our favorite retailers, and tonight at Target I got my first reusable shopping bag, yay! I’m on my way to being a better white person!

hey there. i found your blog via alerts for shopping bags. i have a bag company and i love it when folks tell me how they use their Durtbagz for shopping instead of taking home more plastic bagz. (my company is called Durtbagz, www.durtbagz.com). the coolest place i love taking my bagz is trader joe’s; you get the discount! and who doesn’t want a discount at a phenom place like that? get the bagz that you like the most, then you’ll want to take it with you everywhere and it won’t be a hassle or something you have to try and remember. just a thought. great post.
